Daddy Deacon John O. Oyedepo was a great inspiration and close confidant to me. I appreciate the grace of God that made our paths to cross when he retired to his Ilorin residential home and attended Ayo Bello Memorial Baptist Church Ilorin.
For me, Daddy was someone any one could run to both laity and clergy.
He had worked with a number of Pastors as a Deacon and even led a church when there was no Pastor.
Daddy Oyedepo was so versed in experience over many issues of life and rich in Godly wisdom. His relationship as a family man is endearing and exemplary, a true friend to mummy and a loving father. I know all the children and Mummy are missing him already!
I remain grateful to God for his donation to humanity. May his great and godly legacies live on.
    Rest on Dear dad!

Daddy ‘Deacon Oyedepo” lived a life worth emulating especially when it comes to family life. I loved your preaching best while growing because it was practical and filled with life experiences that we can relate with. You were one of my late grandma’s favorite Deacon and I was so happy and glad when we met again at her funeral, didn’t know we would not see again . You were so filled with life that it’s difficult to imagine you now gone, thank God you are only sleeping …I pray for the holy spirit to comfort mummy and strength for the whole family to bare this lose…Amen!

Daddy is an embodiment of love, I often wonder how big his heart is. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He lived an exemplary life worth emulating, his words of wisdom will forever be green. Our consolation is that “those we love never truly leave us, there are things  that death  cannot touch”. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies”.

Thank you daddy, for welcoming me to your house in Minna. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. Thank you for been a model. Thank you for the beautiful life you lived.

    Rest on Daddy.

Daddy was no doubt a devout Christian, who served God to the end, a dotting husband and loving father, not only to his children but to all that came his way. I remember in the 70s, I used to spend part of my holidays in Minna and it was always fun, with lots of people besides his biological children. Daddy, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course and kept the faith. No doubt, a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give at that day awaits you. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord until the resurrection morning. May God comfort our mummy and all of us that he left behind in Jesus’ name.

Daddy as you’re fondly call by everyone, your life is worthy of emulation.
I can never forget as a young boy, your love for my father and his entire family, I grew up to know you when you used to come and pick us from Ife at every Christmas.
You also secured admission for me at University, accept me and my friends as your family member. You never complained or tired about our attitude as a student.
Your advice, support and contribution towards me as a students leader in our area contributed to my success, this can not be easily forgotten.
You accept any one that comes your way and assisted all to solve issues in whatever capacity.
You’re relevant in both your father/Okimoye and mother/Sogbodile lineage. The vacuum you left can not be easily filled.
    Rest on Daddy.

  29. Daddy, you are a wonderful father, you made us what we are today by fighting for our admissions in the University when admission issue was like a quagmire.
You tolerated us, you guided us, thought us how to serve God and make him our first.
It’s difficult to know your biological children from some of us.
When I lost my dad, your childhood friend, Dcn. Peter Oladuntoye Oladepo Atoyebi earlier this year. I was consoled that we still have you as a father left behind.
But our almighty God have decided to take you home with him.
Daddy Oyedepo, your legacy cannot be forgotten.
Continue to rest with the Lord.
    Rest in peace Daddy.
    Till the resurrection morning.
    Goodnite!!!
